Back To Reality

Here come Week 7.

So, I decided to buys some of the components for this project. At the same time, I ask for my friend's help for the tools needed to make the project. For examples drill, copper board and etc.

Mid Term break

 Yeay !!

After 6 weeks struggle for this semester, its time for a vacation. Hehehe :)  Although its only for 1 week. I will use it wisely.

I will on break for 4 days to Bali. :)

The list above are the component needed for this project. So this week I will buy the components. This time I decide to buy at Bizchip Technology Centre. My friend will bring me together to buy the components.

At the same time, Im still finding who those have the tools needed for etching later.

Week 6

Study what is PCB, its drawing skill and PCB layout.

Stands for "Printed Circuit Board." A PCB is a thin board made of fiberglass, composite epoxy, or other laminate material. Conductive pathways are etched or "printed" onto board, connecting different components on the PCB, such as transistors, resistors, and integrated circuits.
PCBs are used in both desktop and laptop computers. They serve as the foundation for many internal computer components such as video cards and controller cards, network interface cards, and expension cards. These components all connect to the motherboard, which is also a printed circuit board.
While PCBs are often associated with computers, they are used in many other electronic devices besides PCs. Most TVs, radios, digital cameras, cellphones, and tablets include one or more printed circuit boards. While the PCBs found in mobile devices look similar to those found in desktop computers and large electronics, they are typically thinner and contain finer circuitry.

The two diagrams above show the track side of a PCB (normally the underneath side) and the component side (normally the top side) of the same circuit. The relay and integrated circuit are ready to be placed in position and soldered.

Week 5

The draft for the circuit has been drawn before do the correct circuit.
Draft of the circuit for this project

I was planning to used 12 V adapter together with 12 V battery for the power ON.

The voltage regulator module is used to protect PIC and other connected sensors / actuators from over voltage. This is because PIC and all other connected sensors, actuators all support 5V DC only. Over voltage will cause any of the module burn.

Week 4 - Part 2

In terms of programming, I did seek for a friend to teach and do the programming part. So for this project, he did construct the program.

Here is some part of the program before it is successful. For this coding, I used PIC C compiler.

Week 4

FYP Briefing #1

This is the first briefing for diploma and degree FYP2 students. During the briefing there are some explanation about what to do for FYP2 report.

The requirements are:

    • Project Requirements
    • Project Literature Review
    • Research Methodology
    • Project Development
      • Progress Report (Log Book/ Blog)
      • Attendance is compulsory
At the same time, there are also industrial training briefing especially for me because after this FYP2 project done, the next semester is my internship.
