Industry Day

Presentation Week aka Industry Day.

The industry day has come. Everybody is busy with their project and research. So do I.
The industry day was held on 17th of December 2014 on Wednesday from morning until evening.

Alhamdulillah both my assessors, MR Roshidi and MRS Mazhaniza were understood with my project and hoping they will like it.

Here are some pictures I like to share during the Industry Day.

Week 14

Preparation for Presentation and Printing A1 size Poster
  1. Do a regular test for the project so it can be function and smoothly.
  2. Study all the function of components that are used in this project.
  3. Do extra research about the RFID and its benefits compared to barcode.
  4. The material for the poster is paper matte that cost RM35.

POSTER

This week, I'm focusing on poster. By following the format from the fyp website, there are some changes that are needed in the poster compared to the previous fyp poster.

The contents are:

Element needs in the poster
The function of the poster is to give a clear cut to the assessor and for those who come during the Industrial day that will be held on 17th of December 2014.

I'm creating the poster by using the Microsoft Office Publisher 2007 and requirement for the size of the poster is A1. The design for my poster is very simple since i choose ombre is a color of purplish pink which are dark pink at the top, middle pink in the middle and very light pink at the bottom of the poster.

Project Description

Hello.

In this entry, I will post some of the pictures about the project working. I've made some videos to prove that my project is working, unfortunately, the file size is more than 100 MB. I will try to post the video for my project later.

Creating a model

It is important to create a model or prototype so people are see more clearly about the project.

With a little help from my friends, we succeed to create a model for my project.

Taufiq and Syamil are helping in drilling part to make a model for this project

Im using a white hardboard to make a model for this project. This hardboard is using so that it will be more neat and organized especially for the PIC circuits and the wires that connected to the PIC. For the LCD screen, Push buttons, keypad and LED light are nicely drill to make holes so it can be fit in by using a screw to lock it.

Inside of the hardboard that nicely fit

Below is the model that will be present during the industrial day. It shows that there are some of the component that can be seen.

1. ON/OFF button
2. keypad to key-in budget plan
3. LCD screen 20x4
4. Push Buttons for add item, minus item and reset mode
5. LED light to shows the push buttons are function.

Front View of model

For the RFID Reader, it is hidden or behind the hardboard, it is to show that RFID Reader can be scan without line-of-sight as barcode reader. The blue light shows the RFID Reader is function.

When the project is ON

Model fit inside the "trolley"

Head of the lorry have been removed

The picture below shows that the model of my project have been replaced at the head of the lorry to become a proper prototype to my project. So we can see that this model already done to become a smart planning budget with a "trolley".

Week 13

Preparation for the presentation.

This week I'm trying to focus on the project so that it will function all the time during the presentation. For this project, I'm using a 12 V DC battery supply. So it wont be any problem during the presentation. Furthermore, it is quite convenient and relevant that is related to my project.

Testing the project

At the same time, for my prototype, I've bought a mini "trolly" from the Giant Hypermarket, Batu Caves at the toys section. I could'nt find the exact design of "trolly", but it is almost similar as "trolly".

Here is the prototype that I will used as a "trolly".

Complete Circuit

After all the drilling and soldering, here is the view of my complete project.

As you can see, below are the components that already been connected in the PCB board by following each of every component's data sheet.
